Chief Keef

Chief Keef has been released from his 60 day Juvenile Detention. The 17 year old rapper was charged with gun possession during his probation. The sentence was expected to be life due to other allegations. Chicago police claim Keef pointed a gun at them but the case wasn't brought to court. A year prior to this, Keef was being charged for the murder of 18 year old rapper Lil JoJo. JoJo made a music video dissing Chief Keef's gang set. Eventually, JoJo confronted Chief Keef's friend Lil Reese and threw up gang signs, the act was taped by JoJo's friend. As they pulled away, the video shows Keef's squad throwing up gang signs while yelling that they were going to kill JoJo. Less than two hours later, Lil JoJo was shot and killed on his own street. Chief Keef went on twitter and put up posts laughing about JoJo's death. Although everything pointed to Cheif Keef and his squad, lack of evidence resulted in him being released. The 17 year old is now a famous rapper making millions. In his recent case, Chief Keef made a plea saying he would show the judge he can do better. Although the judges showed lineance for him, they fear he will not stop his bad decisions.

Curren$y- New Jet City

Curren$y recently released a new mixtape, titled New Jet City. His lyrics characterize this mixtape with his journey to attain money, fame, and most importantly, a name in today's music business. The music also seems to brand Jet Life, his lifestyle that he chooses to lead, hence the name New Jet City. This music is filled with mellow beats and laid back rapping, appealing to a specific group of listeners that are not interested in the main stream music presented today.
Rockie Freshs' mixtape is one of the best I've heard.  It's called Electric Highway and it dropped about 2 months ago.  I really enjoyed all the songs on this mixtape. My favorite track was Superman OG.  Its a quality song with a good amount of bass and a catchy beat.  This was one of my favorite mixtapes of all time, and I suggest that listeners check it out.

Lil Wayne's Contribution to Society

Lil Wayne has been visiting schools across the country to talk about drug abuse. The rapper Dwayne Carter smokes weed everyday but he still talks about the negative consequences of abusing drugs. Cough Syrup grew to be an addiction for Wayne, over time it caught up with him and now he has a hard time rapping because of it. His hope is that he can convince the kids that it's simply not worth it, by using himself as an example. In my opinion, a better example would be for him to stop abusing drugs and then use his life as an example.

"Good Kid, Maad City"

Kendrick Lamar released this album, "Good Kid, Maad City", back in the Fall of 2012. The music in this album is composed of mellow beats and lyrics about the struggle Lamar faced when he was just one of the kids trying to make it in Compton. Overall, this album gives chill vibes to the listeners that are looking for something other than music about money, fame and the artificial lives that most musicians are experiencing now.

Kicking it off with a classic HIT IT UP!!!
